Casa Gispert
This is a great food emporium dating way back to the mid-19th century. It still has an original wood-burning, nut-roasting stove around the rear, from when the store first opened. It’s still in use, as evident by the piles of firewood standing by ready for the next nut roast. I find myself buying things here that I would never imagine I needed, but eventually something amazing gets cooked using some of the great ingredients they sell. Everything from roasted macadamias to flavoured oils, chocolates and saffron, you can find it all here in wonderfully timeless surroundings. Hazelnuts and almonds are the house speciality, be sure to get some freshly roasted nuts to take away with you and maybe as a gift for a friend.
