Whenever I feel like an Audrey Hepburn moment, I grab a croissant and gaze at the window display of this breathtakingly beautiful jewelery shop. It’s located on the ground floor of a famous modernista building, and much of the Bagués pieces are inspired from the art nouveau period. Although they do some wonderful contemporary pieces, it’s the old designs that really stand out, with translucent enamel work in florid and fanciful designs. I have never ventured inside the store (my Audrey moment never seems to stretch to pair fabulous dark glass with a little black dress and pearls) but see that many tourists do. As the saying goes, it costs nothing to look.
