Bar Mundial is a no-frills, friendly neighbourhood bar-restaurant serving steaming platters of grilled seafood, and it’s really a true favorite of any seafood lover. It’s been family-run since 1925 and while it has seen an increase in tourists in recent years, it’s still well worth a visit. Adorned with old boxing memorabilia around the bar, this place has that authentic excitement that you find with really fresh seafood.

Staff are just great, you get to know them after a few visits and they’re always happy to see you enjoying your food, especially the prospect of their amazing deserts, which once presented on a giant selection platter, always find room.

Our favorite are the las navajas a la plancha which go down great with the Verdejo de Rueda from the well chosen wine list. Also try the rape, mussels, the gambas..In fact, try it all…

Book in advance if you want a more comfortable table at the back: well worth it if you want to feel settled, as it can get quite busy. We take friends when they come to visit, but we never tire of an uplifting visit to the good people at Mundial. Just writing this reminds me I haven’t been for a while….now something must be done about that!
