Espai Sucre
Was looking forward to a visit to Espai Sucre for some time, so much in fact that when it came to order it wasn’t easy. With difficult decisions to be made choosing between the menus, complicated by making sure that no one ordered the same thing, it took some time. Staff in the meantime, clearly bemused by our enthusiasm and indecision, were helpful and added to the anticipation of what was finally ordered.
We went for both of the tasting menus, it would be just wrong not too in case you missed out on something. Six courses combining savoury and sweet concoctions were ordered and that was it. Then there was the choice between a glass of wine or a select choice of wines to accompany the courses of deserts to follow. No argument here, that just rounded off the anticipation of the food knowing that it would be matched with beautiful wines.
Suffice to say that the whole experience was pure indulgence, expensive but I think it was worth it. It was quite difficult the next day to recall exactly what we had eaten, the cominations push the limits of what you are familiar. Some were really incredible like the virgin olive oil cake with peaches and the Mariluisa soup!
Whether for the big all-in experience or just to stop by for some deserts after having dinner somewhere else (not a bad idea at all) this is a great restaurant thats really quite a different experience.
