The Barri Gótic was practically built by medieval trade guilds (you can see many of the tombs of famous guild-ists in the cathedral) an one of the biggest of all was the shoemakers’ guild.  The proof of the pudding is this handsome 16^th century building, first their headquarters and now a curious little shoe museum.  Those expecting to see vintage Manolos or Elton John extravagazas maybe a little disapointed. Instead the small collection concentrates on the craft, with Roman sandals, plenty of espadenyas (Catalan peasant shoes) and a few pairs of celebrity footwear. Closed Monday and afternoons.
