Ordering at the BarTapas in XampanyetFrom the OutsideOutisde on Montcada

Aging locals meets trendy or tourist crowd passing through meet here and it all just works fine. This is a bustling, traditional bodega filled with locals catching a lunchtime snack, tourists slightly in awe and reverence at finding the real thing and regulars getting topped up with a familiar thirst for cheap cava. .

El Xampanyet has been serving a tasty mix of cava and  tapas since 1929. The bar is decorated with old ceramic tiles, barrels and antique curios, and with a handful of marble tables. It really feels like little has change over the years.

A family business since the 30’s the staff are really helpful and make great suggestions of tapas to complement your cava. Recommend the sweet pepper and garlic potatoes as well as the Cantabrian anchovies but go ahead and try anything, it’s all good.

Lots of choice of cava on offer and its just too easy to empty some bottles with friends and get carried along to your next destination.

We like Xampanyet alot, everyone does, recommend you find space at the bar from full Xampanyet experience.
